Self Sabotage
Virtually everyone you know, including yourself, will have experienced self sabotage in their lives at some
point. It's easy to identify.
- You are focused on something, wanting it, and you get the opposite (psychological reversal).
- You are sitting in the middle of a project and stop working, leaving the project unfinished.
- You always come in second because you believe that is all you can ever do.
- You don't start a project because you fear you will fail at it anyway.
- You can't lose the weight you want...can't earn the money you want...can't leave the dead-end job
so you can maybe risk on starting that business you always wanted to...
So what's going on here?
Many factors may be at play including
- Old tapes, writings on our walls, faulty beliefs or however you choose to call it
- Fear of Success or Fear of Failure
- Not taking responsibility for our own choices (such as listening to others and letting someone else
make decisions for you)
and on and on.
The good news...
Is that there are many things that can be done to help yourself.
One great tool is EFT. The Set-up process includes tapping on one of two points (the KC or rubbing the
sore spot) which are believed to help with the PR process.
Other techniques include:
Looking at your beliefs. We tend to form our beliefs based on what we are doing at the time. So if ten
years ago we weren't ready to risk in our career, and we created a belief about it, today, years later, that old
belief may not be appropriate since now we may be ready. Merely taking a step toward the new goal may
be enough to propel you toward a new belief!
Taking the goal in pieces. One grand problem many run into is feeling overwhelmed at looking at the
entire picture of the goal rather than the pieces that it takes to create it. A car, for instance, isn't "a car". It's
bolts and seats and tires and metal. This is the same with any project we undertake. As we work each
piece, we can use that success to build our energy for the next part. If we fail (and we will. It's all how we
see it. Is failure enough to say "no more" or is it more "that didn't work, let's try something else".
Remember, it's our choice!) we can choose what to do next.
